This spring is full of discoveries for me. Now I know that a crazy holiday in a girl company full of cocktails and dance can be as recharging as a yoga retreat, that bright pink colour fits me very well and that I had four bags of unwanted clothes in my wardrobe and three more bags of clothes I will never put on. In this post, I will share the story how I found out that there is so much unwanted stuff. I strongly believe this is not a story about clothes only, but about your life in general. When I was decluttering my wardrobe I decluttered my mind and my life. My goals seem much clearer for me now and I even learnt something new about myself.
I watched this sobering documentary recently and it really made me think about fast fashion. I am absolutely not trying to make you boycott mass market with advising to watch it. If we stop buying things from Zara, its founders will not suffer that much as producers will. Mostly all that cheap clothes are produced by people living in poor countries, they are paid less than minimum wage for their hard, really hard work. But if they will loose that possibility of earning money, I am not sure they will have other alternatives to work.
Anyway, I would recommend this movie to everyone for understanding what is the real cost of those 5 euro T-shirts we all buy.
I am sure all of you heard about this book and believe me, it inspires you to clean your wardrobe and your mind from all the things you don’t need and help you to start living the life of your dream. After first two chapters, I got rid of almost half of my clothes. After two more chapters, I was impatiently waiting to come to clean my Riga wardrobes, which I naively thought contained nothing unnecessary. Thanks to Kay Wong advising me this book while our interview, I have heard about it before but was pretty sure it is a book for housewives dying from boredom, which is absolutely false.
Life is too short to wear boring clothes!
Now you have to take every single piece of your clothes in your hands and frankly ask yourself – does this piece make you happy? NO? Get rid of it! Why do you clutter your life with the things you don’t like?
Now, when you can clearly see how many things you are going to wear you have a question what to do with the rest. There are some things you think are good enough to throw away, right? And still throwing away even the oldest ones is not the best idea. So then what to do with all that stuff? The answer is in the next post!

Woohoo!
